I used to own a book called "Unlikely Friendships" that an ex got me for Valentines, because he knew I would love that kind of thing. It is a series about unlikely pairings of animals engaging with this surprising sensitivity, patience and inquisitiveness towards each other. The delicacy with which they regard each other or comedic curiosity just really gets me right in the feels.
Looking back, it seems comical and quite prophetic about our relationship in general... that we were like two different species that were trying to understand what loving each other with our limitations and differences might look like.
