Imagine your younger self was a child you knew now. How would you feel about their behaviour? Would you sympathise and understand? Would you want to try to help them? You are that child. Treat yourself as you while treat them.
Ask yourself what you gave to your ex. How did you help him? How had his life improved through knowing you? Now ask yourself the same question about his impact on your life. What did he give to you? How has your life improved because of him?
How did you feel during other breakups? Is this really about him? Is this because of losing him or is this because he was a sticking plaster covering up something else, something deeper, that you need to work through?
