Sounds about right -- he is still trying to deal with the ego bruising by bringing you down. Disrespectful. You did the right thing!

We had a civil conversation, ending things on good terms and establishing boundaries. But as I was leaving, he said, "Good luck finding someone better than me!" All I feel is solace. Hugs to you hun. Mine always said that to me on leaving. Is easier to say those words than putting in a real effort to change xx

If he is a narc...he may cycle back....both narcs I dated cycled back, meaning they reached out as if nothing happened and wanted to resume things. Planet narc is a horrible place and good of you to tear up your passport.

For what it's worth, my friend left her bf of ten years and he said the same thing to her. Over a year and a half later, she has been with an amazing man who is aware and into self development as much as she is. They are not without their challenges, but he does wish to take accountability, as opposed to denying he needs to make any changes. Walking away from a toxic relationship can change the energy around you and bring you new beginnings if you are consciously walking away from old patterns. Stay the course!
