My mother was pathological and concomitant with her personality disorder, she had an anxious attachment style. She was a cruel and manipulative person, and did a lot of damage to a lot of people. But she left a lot of awesome survivors in her wake- strong and beautiful people who healed their inner wounds and began to thrive as she declined. Over the years Ive done a lot of learning and healing around the narcissistic abuse she inflicted. I was reflecting this morning on some major takeaways from the experience of finding freedom from abuse. Yes, I used to read Melanietoniaevans's pages.
The key is to learn to self-love, use (various) methods to go back to the traumatic memories to 'stand-up' to the narcissist and to feel the feelings (that you may be afraid to feel). I know this because I've done it (triggering means it is an ongoing process).
