Thanks to everyone here..it went really well...much better then I had expected. He came over and we got a pizza and a movie and talked about what is going on in each other’s lives. I did not ask about the girl and he did not share about any new girl in his life. He did reveal that he is smoking again, but not to the level he did before and he had 2 cigarettes at my place. I don’t mind at all that he smokes, but it was a reality check for me..having used him quitting smoking as a sign of how much better he is than I am...that not is always as I make it out to seem. There were hugs but nothing inappropriate...there were no mixed signals...just expressions of care and love at a friend level. I am amazed at how well I handled things...no tears, no expressions of wanting things to be as they were...just very supportive and friendly kidding. Even now....after he left...I have no regret...it was a pleasant evening and it was really nice to see him again.
