I'm so thankful for everyone's descriptions of their experiences -- every attachment type. It has made a world of difference to my understanding -- only just recently learning about attachment. I don't often add my two cents, but I read everything. I was describing to my friends in real life, while walking down the street, how impressed I was to see how much people are encouraging each other and taking time to advise and comment.
I am sooooo thankful for descriptions of experiences from avoidant people (which I mostly am, as well). No one in real life has ever understood. Reading so many people's articulate and generous opinions is practically life-changing. Wow. So... thanks y'all!

I've gotten the notifications for you liking my posts, and haven't known if you're avoidant or anxious. or the mix. As an avoidant I typically feel like the odd one out although we are all becoming aware of attachment styles and hopefully working to resolve our own stuff. It's been a long road for me to be able to understand let alone articulate what happens inside of me, and it's a great accomplishment to be able to speak to my experience and feelings when it is likely to be pushed back on or questioned or misinterpreted. That's been the story of my life so to be able to speak it nonetheless is to be able to step into my authenticity as a person. Here's what I'd like to say though. I'm perfectly content to do this relatively on my own here without much interaction from people who can actually relate to the DA side. ocarina has been able to truly empathize and support with a real understanding of the other end of the spectrum, which is underrepresented here for obvious reasons. And, it's perfectly fine for anyone to lurk and gain information and understanding. But offering a little bit of encouragement or understanding along the way, could be a way of giving back. You're celebrating and being thankful for something without taking the time to do anything but post a thank you for what you've received. Like I said, I'm doing this all of my own volition, and will continue as long as I need to to get to where I want to go. But I'm totally aware that it's a long and isolated road for the most part. If you're avoidant and can relate to anything I've written I'd love the feedback, but if not that's fine too. I'm glad that the process here has been helpful, it's not bad for what it is!
