Hello, Just have a question that I thought I would put out there if anybody has any insight Into. I have a big family, ranging from 19 years old to 38. All of my siblings have an avoidant attachment style. I am the only one who is a AP. Just wondering if this is heard of and what could be the explanation for this. I have 6 sibilings, and I am in the middle in terms of age. Any ideas?

At seven children I'd say random chance is a legit possibility. Maybe you just happen to be easier for one or both of your parents to be in tune with emotionally and therefore they met some of your needs as opposed to none. I'd say in a family with seven children there would likely be at least one ap. With 6 out of 7 as avoidants there is a strong possibility there is a genetic influence at work but it's not strong enough to over power all possible experiences or personal needs that could occur within your family.

Perhaps there is some genetic component, but do you think there could be any link to how you were parented?
