As a spin off of another thread, I am noticing how communication between the different styles is one of the biggest issues in being able to heal and connect.
It appears to me that Jeb didn't create a forum for ONLY injured people with any one particular attachment type. All style read and post here. I'm just musing here but, if we want to be more successful in our intimate relationships shouldn't we star by being able to communicate respectfully with complete strangers in a self-help forum?
I see a trend of generalizing and thinking that one person who posses an attachment style can speak for all who have that same attachment style. That may not be the best approach to gaining the mutual understanding we all desire.
Maybe we can gain some insight on how each style communicates by answering this question:
IF YOU WERE TO BE ASKED SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR ATTACHMENT STYLE BY SOMEONE WITH A DIFFERENT ATTACHMENT STYLE, HOW WOULD WANT THE QUESTION BE POSED?
C'mon play along! It will fun! Well, at least very insightful.
I'll go first:
"Hey Securely attached person, When xyz happens to you, how do you react/feel."
"Hey Securely attached person, some people say this about your attachment type, is that true for you?
"Hey Securely attached person, what have you found is the best way to ...?"
