Are people really black or white?

The fact that people can show different attachment styles in their multitude of relationships (social, romantic, familial) shows that this isn't the case. Any decent test will therefore have you score different areas of life. One of the reasons is the fact that avoidant and anxious behaviour are much more likely to be triggered in a romantic relationship as these usually require far greater emotional investment than, say, a work relationship and therefore triggers the attachment system a lot more.
