i don't understand the numbers given with my score, not the percentages in the pie chart, the other numbers at the top of the result screen.
pie chart numbers secure 58% Dismissive 29.4% Anxious 2.9% Disorganized 8.8%
the other numbers π€ secure 20 dismissive 10 anxious 1 disorganized 3
is that the number of questions i answers true to that type?
I am so curious what these numbers would have been 4-5 years ago. i really am! i wish i would have known about all this. π

Oh..that is interesting...
pie chart numbers Secure 37% Anxious 37% Disorganized 17.4% Dismissive 8.7%
Other numbers Secure 17 Anxious 17 Disorganized 8 Dismissive 4
That is a good question....I don't know.
Ambivalently attached people have had caregivers who were on again off again, inconsistently tending and attuning to the child. Because of the lack of consistency the child doubts whether their needs will be met and is on the constant look out for cues and clues to how their behavior may or may not influence the parentβs responses. Over time they find themselves on an emotional see saw of needs being met and not being met. Their object relation is βI can want, but cannot have.β
You may observe that in ambivalent attachment styles there is a tendency to be chronically dissatisfied. First, there is a tendency to project their own familial history onto their relationship. Secondly if the other person becomes available, they become unavailable! Unaccustomed to receiving love, having it available doesnβt fit their profile of βstill wantingβ. Over time partners of Ambivalent people can be discouraged by their love being dismissed and the loss of the relationship can be the both the feared and created outcome.
Wow....the above...especially the part about the see saw...that was so on point...along with how my behavior may or may not influence my parent's response.π³

Secure 18 Disorganized 18 Avoidant/Dismissive 14 Ambivalent/Anxious 13
Secure 28% Disorganized 28% Avoidant 22% Ambivalent anxious 20%
wtf π what am I!?!
I did the Jeb test a month or two back which focuses a lot more on parental questions (the Poole Heller one appears generic relationship) and I went high for neuroticism, low for concientuouseness but got a near perfect score for the "open to experience" category which chimes correctly with my personality.
For that test my general score was FA and my relationship score was teetering on the edge between FA and AP which feels right to me if I'm being truthful with myself. As terrified as I am about relationship commitment, I do still crave them more than I fear them. I push and pull, but push a lot more.

Oh yeah, I got a total of 63. Top of the "what does this number mean" leaderboard! π
I don't know how I can be equally Secure and Disorganized at the same time though. It seems a contradiction in terms
I guess because my numbers are so equal my markers must appear very central in the cross section of the four attachment areas, rather than being on the outer limits of extremity. This makes me happy as it shows I am not a lost cause! If I was showing as an extreme FA in the test results I would be feeling more neurotic than ever right now π this has made me happy even if I believe the jeb test is a better and more accurate one
